An afternoon of new visions in horror. Watch four incredible short films from the Midnight Fest 2025 Official Selection, then stay for a panel with the filmmakers as they discuss craft, inspiration, and what it means to make horror now. Featuring the following shorts:

5:00 PM | Ring (1998)
When her niece is found dead along with three friends after viewing a supposedly cursed videotape, reporter Reiko sets out to investigate. She finds the tape, watches it and receives a phone call informing her that she’ll die in a week.

7:15 PM | bodycam (2025) – FEATURE COMPETITION
Two police officers attempt to cover up their accidental killing and discover that their bodycams haven’t been the only things watching them.

4:30 PM | Special Guest John Dilworth on 25 Years of Courage the Cowardly Dog
In the middle of nowhere, it’s up to Courage to save his owners Muriel and Eustace from the creepy and paranormal.
An icon returns to celebrate 25 years of one of the most beloved (and unsettling) animated series ever made. Creator John Dilworth joins Midnight Fest for a special screening and conversation on the legacy of Courage the Cowardly Dog. A rare chance to revisit the show that first taught us how beautifully weird, funny, and terrifying the genre could be.

A young activist joins a radical animal-rights group to expose a pig farm’s cruelty, but when their mission turns violent, she’s caught between sides.

A documentary crew investigates the deaths that occurred on the opening night of a Halloween haunted house.
Step inside the chilling world of Hell House LLC, a modern horror classic, for it’s 10th anniversary. Director Stephen Cognetti joins us for a post-screening Q&A—hear behind-the-scenes secrets and learn about what it takes to keep audiences hanging by a thread for 10 years.


SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5

After narrowly escaping a bizarre accident, a troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a man in a large rabbit suit who manipulates him to commit a series of crimes.

4:30 PM | Boston Film Community Panel + Shorts
Join us for an afternoon of local voices in the genre. Watch four incredible short films from the Midnight Fest 2025 Official Selection, then, stay for a conversation with the filmmakers and other members of the Boston film community. Come to discuss the city’s past, present, and future as a hub for cinema. Featuring the following films:

6:15 PM | SALEM TONIGHT – The Midnight Fest Anthology (Pre-Release Screening)
A local TV personality hosts an annual Halloween broadcast, but something sinister seems to be taking place in the studio and the town surrounding it.
Seven shorts from this year’s competition are bound together into a single feature-length horror anthology, capped by a brand-new wraparound film produced by the Midnight Fest team. This is a work in progress and will be playing for the first time in for our closing night audience.

8:00 PM | Closing Night Awards
We’ll celebrate the standout films and filmmakers of our first year with the Midnight Fest Awards Ceremony.
8:30 PM | Wrap Party
Join us after the final credits roll for the official Midnight Fest wrap party — one last chance to raise a glass, meet new collaborators, and close out the festival with a proper sendoff.
